The London show was never going to be a disappointment, though. From the outset, as the Boss screamed "London Calling" before kicking off with an unexpected cover of the Clash song, he awed the 50,000-strong crowd.

Springsteen takes Glastonbury to the Promised Land

A historic first ever Glastonbury headline performance in front of 175000 people, is witnessed further by streamed BBC Television coverage. This is the biggest crowd that Bruce Springsteen has ever performed to, around 15,000 more people are present than at Springsteen's Berlin 1988 show. In an astonishing opening, Springsteen remembers Joe Strummer with a cover version of 'Coma Girl' before dedicating a blistering Badlands to the late British Rock Legend. An unfortunate fine for breaking the curfew is levied, as Bruce plays just short of 2 and 3/4 hours of pulsating, life affirming music.

Its a night of high drama, and emotion, young and old alike, present in the company of arguably Rock's greatest live act. The weather holds on a balmy English Summer day, as Glastonbury for ever regarded as the Worlds Greatest Music festival, bows down to the Man they call 'The Boss'. This was a priveledge.

A return to the US, for a festival show at Bonaroo. This is the second festival show of the summer, and is well received by a non Bruce Crowd. Bruce joins fellow headline act Phish on the closing night.

Summertime In Stockholm

Ever popular in Sweden, and moving to the Capital for 3 sold out shows to a combimed crowd of over 110,000 people. The shows have been eagerly awaited for months, as Springsteen continues to add to his 'legendary' status in Sweden, and Scandinavia as a whole. Stockholm is the only city that will get 3 shows, played in the setting of the 1954 Olympic Games. Differing weather on all 3 nights, but stellar shows none the less.
