The new material sounded vibrant and complex in the live setting, especially "This Life," with its lush, Beach Boys-like warmth, and the harsh, bluesy "Good Eye."

From the start, it was clear that a lot had changed since the last time Springsteen took the band on the road. With a new album out, new members in the band and a new president in office, Springsteen seemed to offer a renewed sense of purpose and optimism onstage

Jay Weinberg to make E Street Debut

Jay Weinberg the 19 year old son, has been confirmed as the 'stand in' drummer for his father Max Weinberg on a small number of shows on the Working on a Dream Tour. These shows are likely to be as part of the European Leg, as Max's committment to the Late Night with Conan O' Brien is not expected to start until the 1st of June.

Springsteen has released the following statement

''In response to the many questions concerning the upcoming tour, the drummer on the small number of shows that Max Weinberg won't be able to appear at will be a brilliant young drummer from New Jersey named Jay Weinberg. Commenting on the situation, Bruce said: "Once again, I want to express my appreciation to Conan O'Brian, and everyone on his team, for making it possible for Max to continue to do double duty for both us and for him.
